How To Get To Komoka
Starting in London, drive west along Oxford Street West.
Once you reach Westdel Bourne, you’ll see a fork in the road shortly after. The right fork continues as Oxford Street, Highway 14, while the left fork is Highway 3, Gideon Drive.
Either fork will take you to Komoka, but the left one is far more scenic. It takes you along the edge of Komoka Provincial Park, a beautiful natural landscape along the shores of the Thames River.
If you took Gideon Drive, make a right when you reach Highway 16, Komoka Road. That will take you right into the town.
And if you continued along Oxford Street, keep following the road through Kilworth. The road will turn into Glendon Drive – keep going. It will take you right into Komoka
More About Komoka
Once upon a time, Komoka was a hotbed of railway activity. It’s still a crossing point for many railway lines, and saw a number of impressive hotels and other real estate development.
Today, Komoka has been amalgamated into what they named “Middlesex Centre”, a township that also incorporates Arva, Birr, Coldstream, Delaware, Elginfield, Ilderton, and Kilworth Heights. Together, the Middlesex Centre township has a population of 17,262 as of 2016.
Some of the biggest attractions in Komoka include the Komoka Railway Museum, which preserves the town’s history as a railway hub. Featuring several unique pieces, including a remarkably well preserved 1913 Shay steam engine, the museum is not to be missed for train enthusiasts.
But one of the most enticing attractions for Komoka is its provincial park, a beautiful natural preserve nestled along the banks of the Thames River. If you took the left fork coming into town, you’d have caught a glimpse of this area. Nature lovers will enjoy it!
